Cystic Acne Natural Remedies

Treating acne with over the counter remedies will rarely provide a permanent cure. This is because the products treat the symptoms not the cause. The symptoms are relieved for a time but they return and have to be treated again and again. This is great for the drug companies, as they get repeat sales, but costly and frustrating for the consumer.

There is one drug that can give a permanent cure but it is one of the most dangerous and potent drugs on the market. It is generally prescribed only for the most severe acne and is a treatment of last resort. That is Isotretinoin, sold under the brand Accutane until June this year and sold under the brand names Amnesteem, Claravis and Sotret now. Really, if you read the list of side effects, some of them permanent, no one should take it. It is much better to make every effort to find alternative drug-free remedies.

The Alternatives

What are the alternatives? Let me name two: a healthy lifestyle – a balanced, nutritious diet and a holistic program, preferably designed by a health professional.

A healthy lifestyle helps keep our hormones in balance by controlling the sugar in the blood thus controlling the amount of insulin, which in turn limits the formation of an acne environment.

A healthy lifestyle has to include regular exercise. A healthy diet plus regular exercise equals a healthy body. A healthy body fights ailments better than an unhealthy one. A healthy body has the energy to keep up the good fight and to help us maintain our good intentions. A healthy body will have fewer acne breakouts and will have a better chance of a permanent cure. This creates a good positive environment for other treatments to work.

A program is needed to put us on track and to keep us on track. Most of us are better with guidelines to follow. It’s okay to say we have to do this or have to do that but not so easy when we have to do it ourselves. Much better and easier to follow a well-designed, proven program. Just as important is a strong follow-up plan to keep us on track, along with the opportunity to seek personal guidance when we need it.

An effective clear skin program must have five crucial components:

1. Internal and external cleansing

2. Internal strengthening and rejuvenating

3. Hormonal balancing

4. Lifestyle optimization

5. Goal setting and motivation

You don’t need to spend money on over the counter treatments that may not work. You do not need to risk your health with dangerous drugs. You simply need to discipline yourself to change your lifestyle and follow a safe, low cost program

After all, you have nothing to lose but your acne.

Tony Burnell has followed a healthy diet and regular exercise for many years and has enjoyed the benefits. He has an interest in following and promoting natural solutions to health problems – particularly since a smart doctor helped him beat chronic fatigue syndrome without using drugs.

Different Types of Acne, Different Treatments – Cystic Acne Treatment

Acne can range in severity from a relatively small number of whiteheads, to a proliferation of cysts and nodules, which can be as physically painful as they are psychologically upsetting. Severe cystic acne needing cystic acne treatment can be resistant to most treatments, and in fact cystic acne treatment can produce side effects that are as upsetting as the condition itself. For the many sufferers of this kind of acne however, refusing treatment is not an option, so here are some things to be aware of before undergoing your cystic acne treatment.
The causes of cystic acne are, like other types of the condition, associated with the over production of oil by glands in the skin. There remains no definitive cure for any of the acne types, and the ways in which available treatments work is not fully understood.
Treating cystic acne can be difficult – severe cystic acne is usually resistant to topical treatments, and some of the medications that are commonly used, such as tetracycline. Cystic acne can be extremely upsetting for the sufferer, especially cystic acne in women, and though treating the condition can be harsh, it is usually, thankfully, well worth going through.
The most common tool in treating cystic acne is Accutane, or isotretinoin. Though this is a very effective treatment for severe cystic acne, it can bring unwanted side effects. Here are a few tips to help ease you through your treatment:
Accutane has an extremely drying effect, resulting in chapped lips and dry eyes. You might want to ensure that you carry an effective lip balm with you at all times during treatment, and contact lens wearers might find it more comfortable to return to wearing glasses for the duration of treatment.
Accutane can also cause muscle aches – gentle exercise can help, but ensure that you rest regularly also.
Accutane can have adverse effects on your cholesterol levels and lead to abnormal liver enzyme production. Accutane can also give rise to feelings of depression. Report any changes in your mood or your general health to your doctor straightaway.
Accutane can have extremely damaging effects on a developing fetus, therefore you MUST NOT become pregnant while taking this drug. Ensure that you use birth control at all time during your treatment.
Cystic acne treatment can undoubtedly give rise to certain side effects, but these should all subside once treatment is complete. And for the many patients who have completed treatment, the wonderful results have been well worth it.

Understanding Cystic Acne

Cystic acne is a common type of skin infection that is commonly found on teens.

Understanding what cystic acne is can help you to better treat this condition on your own body. For many individuals, it is traumatizing in the way that their outward appearance is flawed by these small but powerful infections. The skin becomes inflamed here and it may even hurt. The irritants are likely to be bacteria as well as a combination of other factors. The bottom line is, though, that people want and need results when it comes to treating cystic acne.

What Causes It?

Cystic acne is caused by when the oil ducts in the skin become clogged. This will lead to the ducts (or pores) becoming infected. The oil ducts are over producing oils that are generally need to help keep the skin moist as well as to help the hair follicle to ease out of the skin. Yet, for many teenagers, hormones are all out of control and this can cause these oil glands to simply produce too much oil. Eventually, bacteria find there way into this area and irritate it enough to cause the infection on the skin. This is what cystic acne is.

Treatments For It

While the causes of cystic acne are important, the treatments for it are just as important to those that are suffering from it. Many individuals, mostly teenagers will deal with this type of acne for at least several years of their life if they do have the right conditions for it. But, the good news is that there are acne treatments that really can work and work well for them. The best acne treatments are those that provide for all aspects of the condition.

1. They should treat the bacteria that are infecting the skin.

2. They should stop or slow down the production of oils through either destroying oil glands or through controlling hormone levels.

3. They should protect the face from new infections forming through methods such as cleansing and exfoliation.

Acne products are available that can do any and all of these things. If you are like most, you’ll want to get started on it right away. Start with natural acne products and then work on the acne treatments that are not working. You will soon see that cystic acne can respond to medication and treatment.
